Ornella Stocco is 23 years old and from the city of Madrid, Spain. Usually she studies Journalism.
What did you think about Antwerp when you arrived?
Well, I can tell its was a great city. But I have to recognize that the first days I found it quit dark and decadent. Later on I had nice walks and I discovered a historical and charming city, with a lot of young life. ung life.
Witch is your favourite spot in Antwerp?
Oohh, that’s a really hard question, there are plenty. But if I have to chose one it’s The square of H. Conscience. Its in the old parts of the city and its small. Its always a man there playing a instrument and its really wraps me.
After this experience, would you like to return and live in Antwerp?
Later on its possible that I will return to Antwerp with my boyfriend. Renting is cheaper than Spain and it’s a romantic city. But since I’m from Madrid I think its too small to stay in for a longer time. For the moment I have other priorities.
Which is your favourite beer?
With no doubt The Duvel. It has a really a fruity taste and it’s as strong as me.
What do you think about Belgium people?
I thought that they were colder than they really are. They are friendly people and polite. I was amazed because of their language knowledge.
Have you visited other cities in Belgium?
Yes, I was really interested in visiting other parts of Belgium because they have a very good infrastructure. I have visited Ghent, Brussels, Knokke Heist, Den´Bosch (The Netherlands) and I’m looking forward visiting Brugge and Rotterdam.
What are the most positive and most negative sides of going abroad?
One of the most positive thing is that I’ve learned about another culture. I also had the opportunity to discover the city by myself and meet nice people from other cultures, like you for instance.
Will you miss Antwerp when you leave?
I will miss my independent live I have here. I will miss the new people that I have meet and the peaceful city that I lived in.
